Teresa Schneider has practiced commercial litigation with Winstead since 1990, handling a wide variety of matters ranging from antitrust to trademark disputes. Teresa's broad range of experience allows her to identify the vast number of issues her clients face and resolve them as expeditiously as possible.

Teresa currently serves as Deputy Managing Shareholder of the Houston office. She also serves as Director of Professional Development, responsible for all training and continuing education at Winstead PC. She is the creator of Winstead University, the firm’s advanced education program for lawyers and clients—responsible for almost 50 presentations a year. She also serves as Director of Winstead’s Women’s Alliance, after past stints as chair of the Diversity Committee and Pro Bono Coordinator for the firm. She is currently leading the firm's efforts in habeas proceedings in a death penalty case.

  • Complex commercial litigation including bank fraud, lender liability disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, real estate fraud, complex construction disputes, antitrust, environmental, securities, and bankruptcy litigation
  • Intellectual property litigation involving patent infringement, unfair competition, cybersquatting, trademark infringement and copyright infringement. Analysis of technology issues, defense of allegations of software and engineering deficiencies, due diligence review in conjunction with mergers and acquisitions, technology contract review and negotiation
  • International litigation experience in British Columbia and Australia and in disputes involving Russian bond markets
  • Presentation of business disputes before arbitration panels, and state and federal courts, and appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit, Texas Supreme Court and First and Fourteenth Courts of Appeals
