Winstead’s Denis Braham Elected Chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston

Dallas, Jun. 17, 2014 — Houston attorney Denis Braham was elected chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston at the Federation’s Annual Meeting in early June.  Braham is a shareholder and chairman emeritus of Winstead PC, where his law practice focuses on transactional matters in real estate, sports and corporate law. He begins his term as chair after serving 10 years as the Israel and Overseas chair of the organization and as vice-chair of special projects.

An attorney with Winstead since 1989, Braham provides counsel to prominent real estate and sports clients such as the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. His contributions to the City of Houston include providing key legal counsel to the bid and host committees through various major sporting events including Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004, the 2010 MLS All-Star Game, the 2011 NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Tournament, and the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.  Braham and his team were also involved in the City’s successful bid to host its second NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Tournament in 2016 and Super Bowl LI in 2017.  

Braham is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.  He serves as general counsel to the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and is a board member of the Greater Houston Partnership and the University of Texas Health Service Center Development Board and Medical School Advisory Council.  He is an advisory board member of the University of Houston Law Center and a guest lecturer at Columbia School of Law.
