Michael is a shareholder in the Winstead's Business Restructuring/Bankruptcy practice. He is board certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Michael has extensive and varied experience in all areas of bankruptcy and out of court workouts. His practice focuses primarily on business restructuring, including the representation of debtors, trustees, lenders and lender groups, indenture trustees, bondholders and bondholder groups, secured and unsecured creditors, creditor committees, debtors, liquidating plan trustees, lessors, landlords, purchasers and postpetition lenders.

Michael has substantial litigation experience in both bankruptcy and federal courts representing plaintiffs and defendants in bankruptcy causes of action and in the areas of contract enforcement, defense of lender liability claims, third party liability, antitrust issues, state law fraudulent transfers and SEC receivership matters.
Michael represents clients across diverse industries, including oil and gas, real estate, retail healthcare, service companies, agriculture, leveraged buyout failures, manufacturing regulated industries, computers and advanced technology, as well as individual and closely held corporations.

Michael has been recognized numerous times by publications for his work in the areas of bankruptcy and restructuring, including The Best Lawyers in America, Woodward/White, Inc., 2003-2005 and 2007-2014, and Texas Super Lawyers, Thomson Reuters, 2005-2013.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
