| ProfileCarey Helm is a member of Winstead's Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group. She has experience in the areas of condominium, master planned community and other covenant controlled community development, formation, transition, operation and governance in both Texas and Colorado. In representing developers of large and small community associations comprised of single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, commercial and mixed use projects, she prepares formation and governance documents, design guidelines and assists in the administration of multi-phased projects. Carey also assists developer clients with community association issues that arise during the developer control period and with transition of the project to resident/owner control.
Carey is also experienced with other community association issues such as attendance at board and owner meetings, document review and interpretation, document amendment, drafting and revising association policies, rules and regulations, building and facilities renovation, as well as easement, license, title and other real property issues affected by government or agency regulations. To ensure that a community is able to operate and maintain its facilities through the collection of assessments, Carey provides assistance with collection efforts through all available means, including demand letters, assessment liens, judicial and non-judicial foreclosure of assessment liens, and personal lawsuits. | | | | - U.S. District Court, District of Colorado
