Kelly Martin is a member of Winstead’s Business Litigation Practice Group. She represents businesses and individuals in a variety of commercial disputes in both state and federal court, including trust and fiduciary litigation, breach of contract actions, and others. With a primary focus on research, writing, and motions practice, Kelly has significant experience at both the trial and appellate levels. As appellate counsel, Kelly has considerable experience preparing briefing for appeals, mandamus petitions, and petitions for discretionary review.
Kelly’s trust and fiduciary experience also includes transactional work, wherein she assists trustees, guardians, and beneficiaries in various administrative issues, including accountings, trustee resignations and appointments, modification and/or reformation of trust documents, and trust terminations.
Following law school, Kelly served as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Justice Eva M. Guzman of the Texas Supreme Court. She also completed a fellowship as part of the Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Veterans Legal Corps program, where she provided legal representation to veterans and their families on issues related to housing, employment, consumer and medical debt, and government benefits. She draws on her diverse practice background to effectively represent clients at each stage of litigation.
