Bob Burton is one of the nation's leading attorneys for condominium, mixed-use, and planned community development. Developers, homebuilders, investors, and real estate owners engage him to structure, launch, finance, govern, and reposition complex real estate projects across the United States.

Bob serves as Department Head of Winstead's Real Estate Development, Real Estate Finance, and Public Finance practices. He advises clients on every phase of development, including land acquisition, entitlements, project structuring, condominium formation, community governance, regulatory compliance, financing considerations, marketing programs, and long-term operational strategy.

Recognized nationally for his work in condominium law, mixed-use development, and community governance, Bob is frequently brought into projects that involve significant legal, financial, and regulatory complexity. He helps clients solve challenges involving condominium development, master-planned communities, vertical mixed-use projects, homeowner associations, property owner associations, distressed developments, project restructurings, and governance disputes.

His experience spans large-scale master-planned communities, urban mixed-use developments, resort communities, build-for-rent projects, condominium towers, and public-private development initiatives. Clients often engage Bob when a project requires innovative structuring, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, or solutions to difficult governance and financing issues.

In addition to his development practice, Bob is a recognized authority on community association governance and condominium legislation. He has helped shape and modernize condominium, planned community, and mixed-use development laws in multiple states and regularly advises industry organizations, developers, and policymakers on legislative and regulatory matters affecting real estate development.

Bob is consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and other leading legal directories for his work in real estate development, condominium law, and mixed-use projects. He is widely regarded as one of the foremost advisors in the country on the intersection of real estate development, community governance, and condominium law.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
