Matt Joeckel is a member of Winstead’s Business Litigation Practice Group. Matt has experience in a range of civil and commercial matters in state and federal courts, including industry experience in real estate, construction, technology, and financial services.

As a former athlete, Matt enjoys the competitive environment in which litigation provides. Matt takes pride in advocating for the most favorable result for his client.

  • Representation of lender against lender liability claims, including claims for fraud, breach of contract, and participatory actions with other Defendants 
  • Representation of multi-family real estate company against claims brought by co-owner of a multi-family asset
  • Representation of Plaintiffs and Defendants in litigation relating to the fraudulent transfer of assets by debtors
  • Representation of co-operative in fiduciary litigation against ex-employee
  • Representation of company in fraud and DTPA claims against mobile application developer
  • Representation of equipment services corporation in defending against Defendant’s Anti-SLAPP motion

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.


AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
