Ryan Taylor is a member of Winstead’s Real Estate Finance, Default Resolution & Servicing Practice Group where he represents national and regional financial institutions in loan originations and workouts. His practice covers a broad range of financing transactions, including construction, term, bridge, and mezzanine loans secured by office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and multifamily assets. Ryan regularly drafts and negotiates loan documents, coordinates due diligence, and advises lenders on complex deal structures.

In addition to his lending work, Ryan counsels clients on default resolution and loan servicing matters. He assists lenders with modifications, forbearances, restructurings, and enforcement strategies involving distressed loans across various asset classes. Ryan has developed a practical, solutions-driven approach that supports his clients in both originating new deals and managing challenging credits.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of national and regional institutional lenders with respect to construction, interim and permanent loan originations for retail, office, multifamily and hospitality and involving complex issues including ground leases and mezzanine financing.
  • Lender's counsel to a national bank on a $575 million senior construction loan to acquire a large tract of land and develop an industrial project.
  • Lender's counsel to a national bank on a $425 million senior construction loan to develop a mixed-use project including retail, office, hotel and condominiums. 
  • Lender's counsel to national bank on a $367 million construction loan to develop three separate multifamily buildings within a condominium regime. 
  • Lender's counsel to national bank on a $265 million construction loan to demolish existing office space and develop a new 26-story office building.  
  • Lender's counsel to a large debt fund on a $246 million portfolio loan to acquire and operate seven stabilized multifamily properties.
  • Lender's counsel to a regional bank on a $30 million loan to acquire and operate an existing marina. 
  • Lender's counsel to a national bank on a $252 million loan to develop a 46-story residential condominium tower with ground floor retail and office.
  • Lender's counsel to a large debt fund on a $150 million loan to acquire and operate an existing hotel.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
