Sam Sheffer focuses his practice on probate, trust, fiduciary, and guardianship litigation, representing clients in high-stakes disputes involving estates, trusts, and closely-held businesses. He handles matters across Texas trial and appellate courts, with experience spanning will contests, trust disputes, fiduciary liability claims, guardianship proceedings, heirship and paternity-inheritance disputes, estate administration disputes, and related civil litigation. 

Sam works closely with individuals, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and business owners to navigate emotionally charged and financially complex disputes. His practice includes both courtroom advocacy and strategic resolution efforts, with experience managing cases involving contested estates, business ownership conflicts, and allegations of fraud or mismanagement. 

Representative Experience

  • Represented parties in a complex multi-state will contest. 
  • Assisted in resolving a contentious guardianship and business ownership dispute involving a manager-managed Texas limited liability company.
  • First and second-chaired numerous depositions and court hearings, including arguments involving motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, and applications to appoint temporary administrators pending contest. 
  • Conducted detailed financial analyses of trust, business, and estate accountings to identify damages, trace assets, and uncover alleged fraud and fiduciary mismanagement.

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
