Serena Cansler is a member of Winstead’s Real Estate Development & Investments Practice Group. Her practice involves advising clients in a wide variety of complex real estate transactions, including joint venture formations, financings, and the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets located throughout the United States. In addition, Serena has experience in multistate portfolio transactions, preferred equity financings, mixed-use condominiums and negotiating brokerage agreements, development agreements and management agreements.

Representative Experience

  • Acquisitions and Dispositions: Represents developers and equity investors in all stages of the development of improved and unimproved property, including multifamily projects and the sale of single-family homes and townhomes.
  • Joint Venture Investments: Represents developers and equity investors in the structuring, negotiation and administration of joint ventures for all stages of a real estate investment and development.
  • Development: Represents developers and investors in all stages of the development of retail centers, multifamily projects, industrial facilities, single-family and townhome projects, office build-to-suit and mixed-use projects.
  • Financing: Represents a wide variety of borrowers in connection with permanent and construction loans for acquisition, development and ongoing operations of real estate projects.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
