Winstead PC is pleased to announce that Frank O. Carroll III has joined the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Houston office, handling litigation matters for Winstead’s Real Estate Industry Group clients.

Carroll is board-certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He represents individuals and corporations in complex real estate disputes. He has tried nearly two dozen cases to verdict as lead counsel, obtaining substantial verdicts representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and has prosecuted more than 100 appeals—many creating new law in Texas—ranging from oil and gas contract interpretation to defining the bounds of emerging technologies.

Carroll has presented oral argument in numerous courts of appeal, including the Texas Supreme Court. At his previous firm, Carroll was the head of the appellate practice group.

“I was attracted to Winstead because I wanted to work with the most respected thought leaders in the real estate industry,” Carroll said. “And, I wanted to join a team that could provide for all of my clients’ needs, from acquisition through every stage of development and management. Winstead has the resources and capabilities to do that.”

Carroll is the host of the Two-Minute Trial Lawyer, a podcast that provides trial tips, tricks and techniques with a trial lawyer’s schedule in mind. He is a fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, and a member of the Garland R. Walker American Inn of Court. He was formerly a city councilman for the City of Katy, Texas.

“Frank has an impressive proficiency in the area of real estate law that really compliments Winstead’s real estate practice, especially in our Houston office,” said James Ruiz, shareholder and head of the firm’s Litigation Department. “Frank is a true rising star with a great future ahead for him in the legal profession, and we are thrilled to have him on our team.”

With an in depth understanding of clients’ industries and businesses, particularly in the areas of energy, real estate, environmental, financial services, construction and insurance, attorneys in Winstead’s Business Litigation Practice Group guide clients through the sometimes chaotic and unpredictable litigation process as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
