Winstead Welcomes Construction Shareholder Dale Butler

Fort Worth, TX, April 26, 2011 – Winstead PC has rehired Dale Butler as a shareholder in the construction practice group. Formerly with Winstead from 1995 to 2008, Butler brings more than 15 years of legal experience in construction contract drafting, construction litigation and arbitration, and civil litigation to Winstead's Fort Worth office.

Butler will work with Winstead clients, including owners, developers, contractors, and financial institutions dealing with construction related law matters. He will also assist clients in allocating risk in their project contracts, as well as advocate their positions in disputes. Winstead's construction attorneys handle disputes in a variety of project types, including commercial buildings, luxury condominiums, sports stadiums, multi-family housing, retail, and mixed-use developments.

In the legal community, Butler has been published and given presentations on topics concerning condominium defect litigation, construction litigation, and green building issues. He is a member of the ABA Construction Litigation Committee and the ABA Tort and Insurance Practice Section. In addition, he is the President of the Flower Mound Bar Association, and a member of the Denton County Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, and the State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section. Butler is one of the few construction lawyers in Texas to have attained certification as a LEED Accredited Professional®. As part of his construction practice, Butler helps owners and developers develop a strategy for achieving green building goals along with other benefits associated with green building.

Active in the D/FW community, Butler currently serves on the board of directors of Southern Denton County Bar Association, a non-profit agency that supports social service non-profit agencies in southern Denton County, Texas. He has previously served on the board of Christian Services, a family counseling and adoption agency, and was the president of the board at Lewisville Christian School.

As he previously worked for Brega & Winters P.C. in Colorado, Butler is licensed in both Texas and Colorado. In 2010 and 2011, he was honored as one of The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law . Butler received his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law.

Operators
