Winstead Launches The Financial Appellate Voice: A Legal Blog Focused on News that affects the Financial Services Industry

04.10.12

Dallas, TX – April 10, 2011 – Winstead PC recently launched its new financial services industry legal blog, The Financial Appellate Voice (www.FinancialAppellateVoice.com). The blog was created by attorneys David F. Johnson and Joseph P. Regan who work in Winstead’s financial services industry group and will provide the majority of the blog’s content.

Johnson is a shareholder and his practice is focused on civil trial and appellate law. He is one of fewer than twenty attorneys in the state of Texas certified in civil appellate law, civil trial law, and personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has extensive trial experience practicing before state and federal courts throughout Texas. He also has extensive appellate experience and has practiced in the U.S. Supreme Court; the Fifth, Seventh, and Eleventh Federal Circuits; the Federal District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas; the Texas Supreme Court and various Texas intermediate appellate courts. Johnson also serves as the managing shareholder for Winstead’s Fort Worth office.

Regan is a shareholder with experience in various aspects of civil litigation and has jury trial experience in both state and federal courts. Johnson and Regan have experience representing financial institutions in a board array of matters before courts in Texas.

The blog functions not only as a resource for business leaders and legal advisors who need to stay current on cases and issues impacting the financial services industry, but also provides important legal news, such as updates on recently decided and pending case precedent, and commentary to directors, officers, managers, in-house counsel, and other legal officers who serve the financial services industry in Texas.

Alongside this, The Financial Appellate Voice will boast a list of financial services cases and issues pending before the Texas Supreme Court. This unique feature will allow for active participation from its readers, who can author amicus or friends-of-the-court briefs and have their voices heard before the court hands down precedent.

Subscriptions to The Financial Appellate Voice are available by RSS feed and e-mail.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
