DALLAS, TX – Winstead PC, a leading national business law firm, announced that the Omni PGA Frisco Resort was awarded the Best Real Estate Deal for 2020 by the Dallas Business Journal.

In addition to winning the overall deal of the year award, the resort also won an award in the new headquarters / campus category.

The development, valued in excess of half a billion dollars, will include a 500-room Omni resort hotel and a 127,000 square foot conference center; two championship golf courses including a short course, practice areas totaling 45 holes, and a Clubhouse; a technologically advanced retail village; and parks and open space with several miles of recreational trails.

The resort will also be the new home of the PGA, the first major international sports organization to be based in Texas.

“We were thrilled to represent our long-time client Omni Hotels and Resorts, and their parent TRT Holdings, in this transformational transaction that will bring the PGA to the Dallas-Fort Worth region and generate hundreds of new jobs and tens of millions of dollars for area businesses,” said Andy Dow, a Winstead shareholder, Chair of the Real Estate Industry Group and member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

“As with any P3 project, the key to our success was aligning the interests of multiple parties, including Omni Hotels and Resorts/TRT Holdings, the City of Frisco, the Frisco Independent School District, and the PGA of America. The fact that this deal was not impacted by the pandemic makes it even more remarkable,” added Mr. Dow.

“Our team of attorneys are amongst the most experienced in facilitating these kind of complex multi-party real estate transactions. They have a unique ability to look around corners and develop innovated solutions which help to expedite transactions.  I am incredibly proud of their efforts in helping to bring this exciting project to life,” said Mr. Dow.

The Winstead team of attorneys who worked on this transaction included Andy Dow (lead), Ed Peterson and Tobin Swope.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
