IP Litigator Joins Winstead

Houston, TX, November 14, 2023 - Winstead PC, a leading Texas-based law firm serving clients across the country, today announced that Miranda Y. Jones, a Chambers-ranked IP trial lawyer, has joined the firm’s Business Litigation group as a shareholder.

“Miranda is an accomplished first-chair trial lawyer, and we are delighted to bring her expertise to Winstead. Having her join the IP trial and litigation team that we have built at Winstead enhances our ability to attract business while serving our existing clients,” said Jeff Matthews, Chairman & CEO of Winstead.

“Winstead has a very client-centric and experienced litigation group that understands patent law and has scored impressive victories for clients in the Eastern District and Western District of Texas. I jumped at the opportunity to join this formidable group of lawyers. They’ve provided a tremendous platform to continue the practice that I’ve built over the years and further expand our practices together. I’m really excited about the direction this team is headed,” said Miranda Jones.

Miranda focuses her practice on patent litigation, partnering with clients as they navigate the often-complex trial and appeal processes as well as inter partes review proceedings in the Patent Office. She has handled matters across a broad range of technologies in the electrical, chemical, pharmaceutical, and mechanical industries.

Miranda has represented clients in patent infringement cases before federal courts throughout the country, including Texas, California, Georgia, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Virginia. She has also appeared before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Miranda’s appellate practice is rooted in her experience working as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit prior to joining private practice.

Search Tips:

You may use the wildcard symbol (*) as a root expander.  A search for "anti*" will find not only "anti", but also "anti-trust", "antique", etc.

Entering two terms together in a search field will behave as though an "OR" is being used.  For example, entering "Antique Motorcars" as a Client Name search will find results with either word in the Client Name.

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance."

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
