Dallas Business Journal's 2014 Real Estate Deals of the Year

This past year, Winstead attorneys were involved in several real estate deals listed as winners and finalists in the 22nd Annual Best Real Estate Deals of the Year, published by the Dallas Business Journal.

The Deal of the Year was the George W. Bush Presidential Center (GWBPC). Winstead attorneys Ed Peterson, Michelle Rieger and Jeanne Katz represented SMU on this complex project that involved the Bush Foundation and various other entities. The GWBPC also won the Community Impact Deal and the Green Deal categories.

In the HQ/Campus category, the winning deal was the new Dallas Cowboys Headquarters in Frisco. Winstead attorneys Barry Knight, Tom Helfand and Robert Bass represented the Dallas Cowboys on various aspects of this project.

In the Medical Real Estate Deal category, the winning deal was the Proton Treatment Center. Greg Zimmerman represented Crow Family Holdings on this project.

In the Mixed-Use/Development Deal category, two of the finalists were Cypress Waters and the Dallas Farmers Market. Kirk Williams and Tommy Mann handled land use, signage issues and related development matters on these projects.

In the Urban Multi-Family category, the winning deal was Fairfield West End Residences at 555 Ross. Barry Knight represented Fairfield on this project.

In the Suburban Office category, one of the finalists was 3001 Dallas Parkway at Hall Office Park. Ken Kopf was involved in some of the leasing deals on this project.

In the Urban Office Category, the winning project was KPMG Plaza at Hall Arts.  Ken Kopf, Katie Gold, Lauren Combs, Barry Knight and Holly Magliolo represented the Hall Financial Group on various aspects of this project.  One of the other finalists in this category was the Old Parkland West Campus, and Greg Zimmerman, Adam Darowski, Michelle Rieger and Andrea Hight represented Crow Family Holdings on this project.  Another finalist was the New Home of the Richards Group, and Lorin Combs, Barry Knight and Ed Peterson worked on this project.

In the Most Creative Financing Deal, the winning project was Alexan Trinity. Greg Zimmerman, Brent Clifton and Adam Darowski represented Trammell Crow Residential on this project.

In the Rehab/Reuse category, City Place in Fort Worth was a finalist. Ken Kopf, Katie Gold, Noelle Garsek, Tobin Swope, Cole Evans, Michelle Rieger, Barry Knight, Julie Sassenrath, Tommy Mann and Ann Whitehead worked on this project, representing Spire Realty Group.

In the Retail/Restaurant Deal category, one of the finalists was the Golden Triangle Mall Renovation. Barry Knight represented MG Herring/Cencor on this project.

Operators

AND and OR may be used in a search.  Note: they must be capitalized, e.g., "Project AND Finance." 

The + and - sign operators may be used.  The + sign indicates that the term immediately following is required, while the - sign indicates to omit results that contain that term. E.g., "+real -estate" says results must have "real" but not "estate".

To perform an exact phrase search, surround your search phrase with quotation marks.  For example, "Project Finance".

Searches are not case sensitive.
